The MAKE ROOM Planner and Journal uses the principle of alignment to help ensure that you live your days with intent and purpose.
By first documenting your goals at the front of the MAKE ROOM Planner and Journal for each of the 7 Key Themes, you give your life direction. Making sure to take time to document these thoughtfully will allow you to give your days a framework that will allow you to come closer to your goals, and set habits in the directions that you want to travel.
Each day is made up of a two-page layout. This layout is split, with the left side used to take notes and write a daily review at the end of each day, and the right side designed to help you to design your time with intent.
Each of the 7 Key Themes is listed on the right page. You can revisit your goals and directions you set for each of those themes, and decide what you want to pursue. The 7 Key Themes includes healthy habits as well. This is where you’ll make your plan by writing down what you’ll do that day to bring you closer to the goals that you have documented in your 7 Key Themes.
The daily planner area allows you to look at your calendar and MAKE ROOM for your priorities. You’ll write down your meetings and daily plans, as well as when you’ll work on the tasks that you’ve assigned yourself that day for each of the 7 Key Themes.
Not every day is designed to bring us closer to our goals, especially when we don’t take time to MAKE ROOM for them. You have to be sure to write down what’s most important to you, and then plan your days with intent to bring you closer to your goals and create healthy, positive habits. You may have to carve out time to MAKE ROOM for your priorities.
By aligning your days’ activities with your goals, you start to live with intent. You become more accountable for how you’re spending your time. You also get closer to your goals. You may find this difficult to do initially, but as you practice you’ll find that you can find time for your own priorities, and you can start to take your time back by designing your life.
The left side of each daily layout is designed for you to take those quick notes that you don’t want to forget. It also includes an area to review each day. This area is designed to be shorter in length. You should spend a few minutes at the end of each day to reflect on how your day went, what you’re grateful for, and how you’d like tomorrow to go. This should be short, and allows you to end your day on a positive note.
The MAKE ROOM Planner and Journal includes a journal in the back section made up of dot paper. Rather than carrying separate separate journals and planners, the MAKE ROOM Journal and Planner combines them into one cohesive tool. The journal section includes enough pages to write 3 pages a day, allowing you to keep Julia Cameron’s Morning Pages routine (which we highly recommend). You can further define your vision for each of your goals in each of the 7 Key Themes. You’ll find further insight, come across fantastic ideas, and gain clarity as you journal each day.
The MAKE ROOM Journal and Planner is designed to help you live with intent and find your breakthroughs to bring you closer to your goals, while you set new ones.
It’s helpful to start a new MAKE ROOM Planner and Journal every few months. Your goals will change. Your habits will evolve. Your vision will evolve. You’ll fill your journal. You’ll also be able to look back on your MAKE ROOM Planner and Journals to see how you’ve grown. Continuing to design your days with the MAKE ROOM Journal and Planner will allow you to continue to live with intent and purpose.
